Week 9 in review

Perhaps the season of craziness is finally over. Perhaps we have reached a little bit of sanity in the college football world. Not that it was reached easily but this week #1 Ohio St. and #2 Boston College won. As Ohio St. beat Penn St. with ease in a final score of 37-17... I just want to apologize to all my dedicated readers out there for not having a blog this week. I plan to have one next week... my poll will come and so will my picks on Friday... I may try to add a bit about last week too.

Week 9 picks

The Big 10 will start to take shape now.
The question has been the same all season and is usually the same every season as it is Michigan or Ohio St. Well we’re going to get our answer this weekend as Ohio St. travels to play Penn St. Penn St. already lost to Michigan but Michigan started #5 lost their first two and now is 6-2 while Ohio St. has remained undefeated and climbed up the polls to their current number 1 spot. Yet Penn St. looks to destroy that dream this season. They look to change the shape of the Big Ten right now. This would be the best way for them to do it.
There aren’t any all star offenses in this game but there is a strong defense battle. Although Ohio St. may have the better defense Penn St. was the last team to beat Ohio St. during the regular season and looking to repeat that feat at Happy Valley. But Chris Wells for Ohio St. has a different idea of what should happen as he plans on running all over the Penn St. defense. While Penn St. will be looking to keep him contained but they’ll have to make sure that Ohio St. doesn’t have an air attack even with Troy Smith gone. This game will go down to the last seconds… definitely a watcher.
Ohio St. 24 Penn St. 23
The pac 10 party really gets going this weekend!
This season’s Pac 10 race has been indecisive and unclear so far. But this weekend that all looks to change. Now this game and the next one I’ll be picking will have big impacts on the team who will be on top of the Pac 10 come the end of the season. As 3-1 in conference play USC travels to Autzen stadium to play the Oregon Ducks who are also 3-1 in conference play. Both teams are looking to keep up in the Pac 10 race as 2 teams remain undefeated in Pac 10 play one of those undefeated overall. Then a few teams are sitting there with two conference losses. So this may be an elimination game for the pac 10 and the National Title hopes.
Although the Trojan defense is the 3rd best in the nation, they’ll face a huge challenge against the Ducks 2nd best offense. Especially since no team USC has played is in the top 25. The best team is Nebraska actually and they’re only 4-4. No other victory or game USC has played has been against a team with a winning record. The Oregon offense has been strong and looks like a team with a passion and seems like they’ll just destroy a struggling USC offense. Two words over-rated.
Oregon 31 USC 13
Are they for real? Or is it just a cover?
With all the talk of Cal, Oregon, and USC this season and how good they’re all suppose to be one team not even mentioned, Arizona St., is the team that is undefeated and looking to have a dream season. Yet Cal looks to turn there two game losing streak around and crash the Sun Devil party as they travel to Arizona St. for this big game. This is really the season for Arizona St. if they want to make a move for the Title seeing as all the other teams that were in front are losing and leaving plenty of gaps. They really should be able to walk into the position as they have Oregon, Cal, and USC on their schedule. But it starts now for them.
Arizona St. looks to keep up with Boston College as B.C. started the tougher portion of their schedule. The big question of the game will be if Arizona State’s defense can stop Nate Longshore and the powerful cal offense. It won’t be easy but it will be necessary for them to pull off the win. The other thing they must do rattle the quarterback and score. Which may not be that much of a problem for them seeing as they have the second best Pac 10 offense. So begins the show downs.
Arizona St. 41 Cal 38

Week 8 in Review

This week the fun all started Thursday night with South Florida playing at Rutgers. #2 South Florida in the National Title spot light. While the Rutgers what are they well known for again.... knocking off teams that look to make the big game. Well here was a great shot for South Florida to prove their deservance of the national title game. It was a good game through out neither team ever really took control. In the third quarter it did become a game of catch up as Rutgers took a ten point lead. On some trickery... after a fake field goal ended in a passing touchdown making it 27-17 in favor of the Rutgers. But with Ray Rice and the Rutgers attack they would hold on as the final score ended up 30-27. Much to the devestation of South Florida who was just about taken out of title contention for that loss. The Rutgers charged the field and took away the Bulls hope of a dream season by defeating them. Knocking them out of their #2 spot in the BCS and other polls. What is going on the season... I mean the team that is the surpise team that shouldn't be up there is losing. This doesn't make sense anymore who will be atop the polls come January 9th. That is the question and we still all want to know. But with plenty of good football left this season just about anyone could be there. As only 5 teams remain unbeaten... in Kansas who survived against Colorado, 19-14. Ohio St. came out strong against the Michigan St. Spartans 24-0 but then they turned the ball over twice allowing the Spartans to score making the final score 24-17. Then Arizona St., Boston College, and Hawaii all had byes this week.
LSU played Auburn at home this weekend. Looking to keep their title hopes alive after last weeks loss to Kentucky. Auburn came out though right away trying to make a statement as they had the lead 17-7 by the half. They were also keeping LSU's offense in check for most of the first half. Also a big turnover that they returned for a touchdown gave them help taking the lead. Then in the second half though LSU had other plans. Especially in the 4th quarter reminding us as to why they are the 4th ranked team in the country. Going up 23-17 but then with three minutes left in the game Auburn took a 24-23 lead. So their defense should be able to hold off the LSU attack and give every SEC team a second loss. Well not so fast. 4 seconds left on the clock. Time for LSU to turn the game around as with one second left on the clock Byrd caught a ball in the endzone giving LSU the 30-24 win. Although LSU stays a strong part of the BCS hunt they have to first worry about winning the SEC as they still have to play Alabama who is still in the SEC West race and then they'll have to play Florida, Kentucky or South Carolina again most likely in the SEC championship. They may not be able to survive that schedule either as Florida should have beaten them and Kentucky did beat them. Which sets up the next game I'll be going over.
Lexington, Kentucky these fans just saw their team knock off the number 1 LSU Tigers now they look to beat the Florida Gators. The Wildcats scored the first touchdown in what ended up being a high scoring affair. As Tim Tebow would help lead the Gators to a 14-7 first quarter lead. The Wildcats were not in a good position though at half time being down 21-10.. trying to avoid a 21st straight loss to Florida. Unforunately that turned the 2nd half into a game of catch up for the Wildcats leading to their demise. As they could never catch back up even though Woodson threw 5 touchdown passes. Tim Tebow's 4 ended up better in the Gator's 45-37 win. This kept the SEC East wide open. But it also lowered the 11th of twelve teams in the conference to having two or more losses. Leaving LSU the only team with a real shot at making the National Title game for the SEC. Now I am going to complain a little bit here about this. Seeing as no other conference could do this and still be seen as the best conference or even respectable. Well the SEC is probably the most open conference especially as number 6 South Carolina loss too.
At home Steve Spurrier should have some offense you'd figure. But after Vanderbilt scored 17 points in the first quarter the only other points of the game would be 6 by S.C. showing that they don't have offense. South Carolina isn't out of the race for the SEC championship yet but they'll have to start doing something on the offense. But a 17-6 loss to Vanderbilt is no way to prove anything. Then another big loss this week was in the Rose Bowl. As UCLA hosted Cal. This should be a nice easy comeback game for the bears as UCLA lost to Notre Dame. But a interception by UCLA brought back for a touchdown ended the Bear's hopes to get a game winning field goal. Also took away their national title hopes as they lost to the Bruins 30-21. These losses open up the top ten to two lost teams also show that there may be only two teams with one or less losses this season.
Then one other big SEC surprise was the Alabama Tennessee game. Tennessee looking to stay in the SEC east hunt... well this wasn't the way to do it. By losing 41-17 to Alabama they did all but put those dreams away. Alabama on the flipside now looking for a shot at the SEC West.
Then as for big 10 action we will start off with Michigan Illinois. As Illinois came out strong scoring first and going up 14-3 but then Henne came back in without Mike Hart. Who suffered from a high ankle sprain to give Michigan the 17-14 lead at half time. Then Mallett would look good but not score anything neither would Mcgee for the Alumni. But then Michigan and Henne got lucky as a muffed punt resulted in great field position for Michigan and a 24-17 lead and then Michigan would go on to win 27-17 despite all the adversity they faced through out the game. Keeping Michigan at pace with Ohio St. and opening a gap in the Big 10 race as it becomes Michigan and Ohio St. and then everyone else. Wisconsin ended a losing streak beating Northern Illinois 44-3. Purdue beat Iowa and Penn St. beat Indiana in what ended up being a close game. Then Northwestern beat Eastern Michigan 26-14 on Friday. Then Minnesota lost to Div. 1AA North Dakota St. 27-21.
I've decided heisman watch will always be with my poll now. So until Tuesday.

Week 8 Preview

East Dominance at stake this week.
A week ago they played three overtimes, they played over 60 minutes of their best football ever, the end result?… a victory over the #1 rank LSU tigers… now Kentucky will have a shot to end a 20 game losing streak to SEC east’s usual power Florida. But the question is if they can keep the good times rolling. Florida is looking to keep themselves in the race for the SEC championship game. While Kentucky looks to keep up with South Carolina. This game decides a few things how real was the upset last week and who will likely get to play in the Championship most likely a rematch against LSU for either team.
The number 1 worry for the Wildcats is the Gator’s quarterback Tim Tebow because of his versatility. As last season a team with a scrambling quarterback would tear up the Wildcat defense. Yet the experience of Andre Woodson looks to play into the match up. As they look to use him to score points and try and down Florida. The question is which hiesman hopeful wants it more. How much are they willing to put out on the playing field. One team leaves in a drivers seat the other has a lot of catching up to do the rest of the season.
Kentucky 38 Florida 34
The west may be turned upside down.
The ex #1 Tigers must play Auburn this weekend. Now if Auburn wins is it really that big of an upset as seeing what this game used to be. Usually playing out to decide which SEC west team was going to put their 1 or no loss record on the line against the East. Yet if Auburn wants to pull another big upset they’ll have to do it in Baton Rouge. No one wants to play there seeing as it is one of the toughest stadiums to play in, in the nation. LSU has a two sided battle here though a win keeps their national title hopes alive while a loss would most likely take them out of the picture. The only way they could stay in is if all the teams lose two games.
While LSU stars in the area of running backs as it seems like they have a new star in that position every week. Auburn on the other side has a solid run defense that has been keeping teams running game tamed. This year it will be a challenge for LSU to go through the air too as they don’t have Jamarcus Russell anymore. Although Flynn is good he isn’t that good yet. Look for this one to be one of the most physical games of the season. This one may be the classic LSU didn’t want this week.
LSU 17 Auburn 16
More South and North Action
Last week they had Oklahoma and failed now they’ll look to overcome the loss as they play the Texas Tech Red Raiders… in what will be a 2nd straight tough match up for the Missouri Tigers. Fortunately for the Tigers they’ll get to host Texas Tech this weekend. Yet unfortunately the Red Raiders are on a 3 game winning streak… with there only loss this season to Oklahoma St. 49-45. While Missouri’s only loss came last week against Oklahoma 41-31. Both teams have the ability to score points. Both teams could surprise in the Big 12 if they step it up. Missouri looks to win the North yet with Kansas that may be a challenge. While Texas Tech could win the south if they can win here and later when they play Oklahoma.
Both teams have great offenses. Starting with their quarterbacks who for Missouri is Chase Daniels who is averaging 345.5 yards a game while Texas Tech features Graham Harrell 450.1 yards a game which is the leading yardage for the Bowl subdivision who also has a high 31 touchdowns already this season. With two of the top five offense I wouldn’t expect anything less than extremely high scores here. Look for a lot of points
Texas Tech 52 Missouri 48

Week 7 in review

This is getting a little out of hand this season... Well at least I have something exciting to write about.
What can I say but the last of the original top 10 has fallen as LSU traveled to Kentucky. So this was suppose to be a walk over game for the #1 Tigers as they played the #17 Wildcats. That quickly changed though. As they went up 27-14 and it looked like it was over and that LSU may actually be the powerhouse of the league. Yet Kentucky didn't think it was over just yet. As they came storming back with 13 straight unanswered points and then after a missed LSU field goal in the last seconds... It was time for overtime. Kentucky would quickly score in the first overtime but LSU would answer back. Then after matching field goals in the 2nd OT they went to the third OT. Kentucky scored a touchdown but failed on the two point conversion attempt. So LSU seemed like they would get in and tie it up but running the ball four straight plays didn't work and they ended up ending the game after failing to get the first down on 4th down. My wonder is why didn't they throw at all? With Flynn they could have spread the field and if no one is open he can always run the ball. Now Andre Woodson the Wildcat quarterback had major Hiesman hype after knocking off number 1. This shake up was only starting too.
#2 Cal is playing Oregon St. so an easy win right? Cal will be number 1 in the polls and all will be in check from this point on? Well if you say that to the Beaver's fans they'd definetly try and get you. As it seemed Cal was continually playing a catch up game against Oregon St. which isn't a good thing. Especially since Longshore was not in the game. But with the score 31-28 Cal was on Oregon St.'s 12 with twelve seconds left. So Cal will kick the field goal and take it to overtime... so it seems. But with a back up QB in you can't always rely on the perfect decisions. As he ran the ball up the gut and got tackled and with that the clock ran out never giving Cal a shot to tie it up. Also putting an end to their hopes of being number 1. So what do these two games mean... well first it is the first time since 1996 that both #1 and #2 have lost in the same weekend. Then next it means we now have a new number 1 and 2. Who are they well it sounds like last years teams almost. As Ohio St. is #1 now and then Florid... oh wait South Florida is number 2... South Florida number 2? Crazy isn't it? Well not really seeing as they have beaten Auburn at Auburn and West Virginia. Both of those teams won their games convincingly as Ohio St. won 48-3 against Kent St. and then South Florida won 64-12 over UCF.
Then our new number three is Boston College who actually had a scare against Notre Dame. But would come out safely as Notre Dame couldn't keep themselves in the 27-14 Eagles win. Then what happened to last weeks number 2 team who fell to tenth? Well they just about fell again against Arizona as USC barely got past 20-13. If not for a nice 45 yard punt return USC may have been a different story. But they did have the return setting up the touchdown and therefore setting up the win. Yet what do I see in the future for USC not much good. As they have to play the only unbeaten team left in the Pac 10 in Arizona St. and then they have to play Oregon and Cal still too.
Ron Zook's Illinois Alumni seemed to be on a role. They looked invincible. Yet when they went to Hawkeye stadium to play Iowa they had a twist of events. In what ended up being quite the defensive struggle. As an Iowa touchdown would be the winner to make it 10-6 and that would be how the game would run out. After Mcgee threw the ball in the endzone that would be picked off with 1:12 left. Which would also allow the game to end. So then also in the big 10 #19 Wisconsin looked to bounce back against Penn St. Yet Penn St. had other things in mind. After routing the Badgers 38-7. So much for a close game or even a respectable game. But that was the theme in two other big ten games this weekend too. As Michigan shut down Purdue in a 48-21 victory as the Boilermakers scored two of those touchdowns meaninglessly late in the game. Yet Hart did leave early but reports say he should be fine. Then Michigan also held the explosive Purdue offense to 292 yards. Didn't look like a normal spread offense against Michigan's offense now did it? Then Michigan ST. would destroy the Indiana Hoosiers 52-27. The Spartans needed the win in what was a reality check game for them in my opinion. After dropping their last two... they may have just salvaged their season. Which looked like it was about to go south very quickly. Then the last Big 10 game Northwestern Minnesota in what was a back and forth game and high scoring that after two overtimes ended in a 49-48 Northwestern victory.
Then one more game I can't forget is the Sooners and Missouri Tigers. As Missouri was in the lead 24-23 after the 3rd quarter and was looking to pull off the upset. Yet although they kept the game close with #6 Oklahoma. They couldn't get it done in the 4th quarter and would be knocked off 41-31. Could Oklahoma be the one loss team to move up? They may be.

Normally I would do my Heisman watch but for time reasons and with the new Sunday night games I'll be moving it to Tuesday with my poll. So Tuesday I will release my new poll.

Week 7 picks

SEC Teams Looking to take hold of the Conference
After stumbling by Florida last week LSU will run right into another good team as they have to travel to Commonwealth Stadium to play #17 Kentucky. Can LSU maintain their undefeated season… They are the last original Top 10 team to still not have lost yet. Today they would like to show why as they look to secure their spot in the National Title and their spot in the SEC championship. But they’ll have to get past this Kentucky team that although they lost to South Carolina last week… has the talent to win here as we saw them put Louisville in a tailspin a few weeks ago.
Kentucky’s Andre Woodson will have to face this insuperable LSU defense. The Kentucky offense will be looking to find some of the kinks in the armor that Florida tried showing last week. If they can they could pull off the upset. But it won’t be any walk in the woods for Woodson. But even if Kentucky gets to that point of winning can they prevent another Bluegrass miracle. As the last time they played at Commonwealth stadium LSU scored the game winner on the last play. This is Kentucky’s chance will they take it? Or let it walk away?
LSU 31 Kentucky 24
Big 12 North Looking for more Redemption
This week in Norman Oklahoma the Big 12 north will be looking to steal another one as the Missouri Tigers who are undefeated and then the Oklahoma Sooners who have lost once, to Colorado. Who will win this game the team in the North looking to turn things around looking to find a spot in the BCS perhaps? Or the team from the South who would normally be expected to take the BCS spot for the Big 12. Both teams should know though that although there is all of the craziness in the top 10 teams recently it helps keep both of them in the title race. As nothing is for sure this season.
The Sooner’s quarterback Sam Bradford looks to pick apart this Tiger’s defense as they could have much more with a better d. But Missouri looks to tear up the field against Oklahoma like they did against Nebraska last week in a 41-6 rout. Unfortunately for Missouri their leading running back Temple is out… and last year when he was injured against Oklahoma… Missouri lost 26-10 and was knocked out of the top 25. This year Missouri looks to turn it around. While Oklahoma will try to keep the Big 12 in check. Can Missouri break the trend?
Missouri 31 Oklahoma 29
Rivalry doesn’t meet up to usual level of play…
If you take last season’s Notre Dame team and put them against this years Boston College team it would have been one for the ages. But because of a turn of events and the now struggling Notre Dame offense lead by Jimmy Clausen will have to go up against the B.C. offense lead by Matt Ryan. The other catcher here is that Notre Dame just got their first win of the season against UCLA while Boston College won their 6th straight game… putting them at 6-0 and ranked 4th in the nation. Will Notre Dame be able to crash the boat that Boston College is on? Or will Boston College keep it going…
Notre Dame has struggled on offense while Boston College has been golden. Boston College looks to destroy Notre Dame in every way this weekend. They look to embarrass Notre Dame in front of the Irish’s fans. Yet Notre Dame will be playing with a passion today. They will be looking to keep the Boston College football team in check. But that won’t be any easy feat as they have just been fantastic this year. They have a potential heisman candidate in Matt Ryan. Boston College will keep the blood flowing I think as they are off to their best start yet.
Boston College 41 N.D. 10

Week 6 Review!

This week of college football actually was as messed up as last weekends set of games.
Lets start out in Los Angeles where USC was hosting Stanford. This should be a nice easy game for the Trojans to bounce back right? They never play bad at home especially as 40 point favorites against teams like Stanford. Also they hadn't lost at home since 2001 against Stanford... wait a second Stanford was the last team to beat them at home? Possibly starting another cycle today?... well with it 9-0 right before half time USC tried to go up by 16 before they went in to the locker rooms and on 4th down they failed to get in the endzone. So from there on out they'd be outscored by Stanford 24-14 in the second half because of stupid mistakes that a #2 team should be above. But I guess in an in-conference game you never know what will happen. So the final score 24-23 Stanford win. After a touchdown with 49 seconds left. Then after USC's John David Booty threw a pick it was over. Now the end result one less undefeated team and USC is now ranked 10th.
Then in Champaign Illinois, Wisconsin and Illinois went at it. So the 5th ranked Badgers should walk through this game right? I mean they have the longest win streak. Illinois can't really be a real threat in the Big Ten could they? Well surprise, surprise. All of a sudden Illinois is 5-1 and 3-0 in the Big Ten. They could run the table if they wanted to, they have their own destiny in their own hands after knocking off Wisconsin 31-26... really that game wasn't even that close as Wisconsin scored a touchdown in the last few minutes. Now all of a sudden the Big Ten has been torn open. The teams in the best position for it right now are Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio St. As Ohio St. handidly took care of Purdue 23-7. The Boilermakers offense was proved much worse that it seemed. Then the Wolverines behind Mike Hart who is now the Michigan all time career yard leader won over Eastern Michigan 33-22. So all three of those teams can control their own destiny if they win out. Ohio St. would obviously be the favorite though as they are ranked #3 and should be in control of their title hopes too. Assuming Cal or LSU fall. LSU has Kentucky next and still plenty of other good SEC teams... while Cal still has USC, Arizona St., UCLA, and you can't disclude Washington.
So with number 2 and 5 falling who is our new top 5? #1 obviously LSU who had to play 4 quarters to get by a number 9 Florida. Who led the whole game. Who was up by 10 multiple times. But LSU made the comeback in the 4th quarter to get their 28-24 win. Then #2 Cal who had a bye week. Then the new #3 team was Ohio St. who you already heard about. Then #4 Boston College... yea that's right boston College. They destroyed Bowling Green 55-24 as their Quarter back Ryan scored 4 touchdowns. Then the number 5 team... South Florida.. surprised? Well I am since they barely beat Florida Atlantic.. in some exciting 4 quarter action.
Then the other game of interest is The Tennessee-Georgia game. Georgia ranked #12 should beat up on the unranked Vols who have been problem-matic this season. Well Tennessee had other plans this game. They decided they were going to stop Georgia's win streak in Knoxville. They realized they can play offense and defense. It isn't as hard as it seems to beat a good team. Just takes the determination. Well Tennessee came out and won 35-14. In a shocking fashion.. You'd think it would at least be right down to the end. Well not so much... although Georgia did score the last Touch down. But that score didn't matter. Since Georgia couldn't keep it close enough to make anything matter.
Then the game of interest in the Big Ten... MSU and the Wildcats. Michigan St. should shut out here right? I mean they do have the Wildcats in East Lansing. Northwestern has been absoultly horrible this season. Now all of a sudden they have a Big Ten win too. After their offense lit up the MSU defense, MSU also had an amazing offense but their 41 wouldn't be enough in the 48-41 Northwestern win. So now Michigan St. who some thought may be able to challenge in the Big Ten... is now 0-2 in Big Ten play. They'll have to play their way back in if they want to be anything at this point. Now with Indiana next Michigan St. will have to be careful as Indiana is also looking to be a Big Ten threat. Then also Notre Dame also won their first game 20-6 over UCLA as a few UCLA turnovers led to Notre Dame touchdowns. Well this why we play the games... because you never know what may happen.

Week 6 picks

Big Ten Undefeated Teams ready to show down
Last season’s Big Ten’s Champions face a team that is on fire this season. As Ohio ST. will travel to Purdue. The Purdue offense has been flaming hot while the Ohio St. defense is rebuilt and looking to show how good they really are. But the Boilermakers are looking to turn the tide of the big Ten with an upset over the #4 Ohio St. Buckeyes Saturday. The question is though can they turn it around against a team that has been so consistently good the last few years. Purdue has been looking for some sort of a name over the last few years as they’ve struggled.
Purdue ranks 10th in the nation offensively and 8th with an average of 45 points per game. On the flip side Ohio St. has the 3rd ranked scoring defense and the defense as a whole is ranked 2nd in the nation. It sounds like quite the game brewing in West Lafayette to me. As one team looks to continue greatness the other looks to start a name… especially with Michigan next week at the Big House this would be a great starting point for Purdue. My question though is can Purdue hold on? Can they pull off the upset. You’ll have to watch to know for sure but a little preview:
Ohio St. 26 Purdue 24
The SEC has this kind of season
What kind of season will this be for the SEC? Who is the true team to beat in the SEC? Well so far it appears to be LSU… but Kentucky, South Carolina and Florida all look to prove otherwise. Although all have suffered a loss. Kentucky lost last night. So now LSU looks to get revenge against Florida tomorrow night. LSU is into the number 1 team in the nation thing. As they have a poster saying Florida may have the sand and sun but LSU is number 1. They are also going on to the field ranked #1 for the first time since 1959. They look to dismantle the Gators as they did Virginia Tech though.
Tim Tebow and the Gators though like to prove otherwise. They have the speed and talent to pull off the upset. Yet they’ll have to get past this amazing LSU defense that just destroys anything that tries to beat it. Then again Urban Meyer hasn’t lost back to back games since he was coach at Bowling Green. So as LSU looks to keep their national title and undefeated run going, the gators on the other hand try to avoid another loss as that would most likely cost them a shot at the national title. But can the defending champs pull it off?
LSU 21 Florida 20
Red River Shootout action… Not what it seems?
What happened to the good old games where this would have title impacts…. Well Colorado and Kansas St. happened. Both teams knocked off top 10 teams… now those to once top ten teams play as Oklahoma and Texas go at it. Neither team wants to fall out of the conference race this early as the loser may be down by as many as 2 games to any 2-0 team in the South. Looking at last weeks game Texas had the worst of it as they lost to Kansas St. but it wasn’t a normal loss it was a rout. Texas’s in ability to be decisive cost them. Oklahoma on the other hand looked like they were just stumbling over their own feet.
This week the Sooners look to bring back that team that was winning by 50 points the first 4 games. While Texas tries to bring back that team that looked like it may have been a contender last year. They still have McCoy as QB and Brown as Coach. They can do it. Yet Oklahoma and Sam Bradford will be looking to light up the score board this weekend. The Texas State Fair will be going on outside. This game is for a golden hat and what could possibly be more important than that?
Oklahoma 45 Texas 17
